Take a moment to think of someone dear to you—a parent, child, friend, or partner—whose life has been touched by cancer. For many of us, the word brings fear, uncertainty, and sometimes loss.
Cancer has taken time and joy from too many lives. But it does not get to define our story. I stand here today because my cancer was caught early and treatment saved my life. I am deeply grateful—but I know the journey does not end when treatment does.
As President of the Killarney Community Centre Society, I believe cancer care is about more than medicine; it is about supporting the person behind the diagnosis. As a community, we must stand together with compassion and hope.
The Killarney Community Centre Society is proud to support the fight against cancer through Zumba® for a Cure on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., raising funds for the BC Cancer Foundation. Our goal is $10,000.
