- Cardio Machines – Life Fitness treadmills, Matrix and Precor elliptical trainers, Matrix recumbent bikes, Lifefitness exercise bikes, Matrix rowing machine and Keiser M3 spin bikes.
- Strength Machines – Life Fitness pulley systems, Matrix and Precor strength training equipment, Matrix ascent trainer, Matrix squat rack and Matrix multi-use bench press
- Functional Equipment – Olympic free weights, stability balls, Bosu & Body Balls, Dumbbells, stretch mats and benches.
Open cubbies are available in the fitness centre next to the registration desk. And there are also small lockers available for storing valuables, located right next to the cubbies.

Killarney 1 on 1 Personal Training Sessions
Book your time slot now for a 1on1 Personal Training session with Killarney’s very own Personal Trainers. Killarney’s certified fitness professional will work with you to identify your goals and create a specific customized program that maximizes the benefits of your training routine. Personal Training Packages include the option of 1, 3, 5 or 10 1-hour sessions. Vancouver Park Board Personal Trainer Promo’s are not accepted at the Killarney Fitness Centre.
Assessments, Orientations & Personalized Fitness Programs
Your admission fee entitles you to a complimentary orientation to our Fitness Centre. Our certified staff will assist you with the following: proper etiquette, equipment operation and the importance of cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. With any Drop-in, 10 visit pass or any Killarney fitness pass purchased we also offer in-depth personalized programs based on your current physical condition.

Private Rehabilitation Training at Killarney Fitness Centres
If you are a rehabilitation or adapted fitness professional, you can work with your clients at Killarney Fitness Centre. Register as an external rehabilitation specialist (ERS) with us. Some conditions apply.
Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, recreation therapists, and physical therapists can work with clients at Killarney Fitness Centre if you are:
- An accredited physiotherapist, occupational therapist, recreation therapist, rehab trainer, adapted fitness specialist, or similarly qualified professional
- A member of a recognized professional association such as the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia
- Protected with a minimum $2-million liability insurance specific to personal training. The policy must include the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, and Vancouver Police Board as insureds.
- Certified for Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or equivalent
- Registered with the Killarney Fitness Centre
- Current City of Vancouver business license
Rehab assistants and therapeutic assistants can work with clients at Killarney Fitness Centre if you are:
- Certified as a fitness professional with a personal training or similar emphasis, with any of the following organizations: ACE, ACSM, BCRPA, BCAK, CanFit Pro, CSEP, or NSCA
- Protected with a minimum $2-million liability insurance specific to personal training. The policy must include the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, Vancouver Police Board, and Killarney Community Centre Society as insureds.
- Certified for Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C, or equivalent
- Registered with the Killarney Fitness Centre
- Current City of Vancouver business license
Register as an ERS
To operate as a external rehabilitation specialist with the Killarney Fitness Centre, do the following:

- Contact Austin Su, Recreation Programmer – Killarney Fitness Centre, at austin.su@vancouver.ca.
- Submit the completed form and provide documentation.
Terms and conditions for using Killarney Fitness Centre
As a registered external rehabilitation specialist (ERS), you must:
- Sign in when you arrive, and sign out when you leave
- Show your ERS identification card
- Pay the required facility fees each time you visit:
- Admission for both yourself and your client
- ERS fee
- Wear a Killarney ERS wristband, where required
- Follow the code of ethical conduct, regulations, and bylaws of the Health Professions Act, College, and Board
- Provide only those services that are within your scope of practice and for which you are qualified and certified
- Refer public questions to Killarney/Park Board staff
- Cede to Killarney/Park Board staff on any questions of inappropriate exercises
- Adhere to posted signs in the facility
- Refrain from monopolizing any piece of equipment when others are waiting
- Refrain from soliciting business while in the facility
Violations of any stated or posted rules, regulations, or policies, malicious use or defacing of the facility, verbal abuse of staff, or lack of cooperation with staff by any person may result in forfeiture of Killarney fitness Centre privileges.
Killarney Fitness Centre Attire Guidelines:
- Preferred Attire: Shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, and gym shoes with non-marking soles.

Jeans:
- Permitted only for stand-up exercises, as jeans may damage upholstery.
- Must be clean and in good condition.

Footwear:
- Gym shoes with non-marking soles are mandatory.
- Bare feet and flip-flops are strictly prohibited due to safety concerns.
- Toe shoes and sandals with back straps are acceptable.
- Socks without shoes are allowed only on stretching mats.

Cleanliness:
- All workout attire must be clean and hygienic.

Messaging on Clothing:
- Attire must not display derogatory or offensive language (e.g., racial slurs or inappropriate content).
Appropriate exercise attire is required in the Killarney Fitness Centre at all times. Following these guidelines ensures a safe and respectful workout environment for all members.

For your safety max capacity within the Fitness Centre, at any one time, will be limited to 34 participants, based on a first come first served basis. Fitness centre users before 9:00am Monday to Sunday can purchase drop-in admissions at the Leisure Pool Office.
