Backspin Bluegrass BandBluegrass is one of only two forms of music to have completely evolved in the U.S., the other being Jazz. With roots in Scottish, English, Welsh and Irish traditional music Bluegrass was developed by Grand Old Opry star Bill Monroe during the 40’s. It is sometimes described as folk music in over drive.The members of Backspin play a mix of traditional and country-flavoured Bluegrass Songs as well as songs and tunes of their own creation.They are: Jay Buckwold, Kate Main, Randy Goulding, Colin Goldie, and Hugh Ellenwood. All band members have performed and recorded with a variety of other local Bluegrass and acoustic music bands and met at the Monday night jams at the Anza club. They formed Backspin in 2008 and have performed at a variety of local venues
Honky tonk dilettantes

The Honky Tonk Dilettantes are a trio of guitar, mandolin and bass with the occasional fiddle thrown in the mix. They all sing, focusing on harmony and perform old country classics, bluegrass and swing.

Leah Williams is a local singer/ songwriter and guitarist who performs original material, folk, and celtic tunes, accompanied by Mark Dowding on flute, pennywhistle and harmonicas.
Leonard & the Lab Rats

Leonard and the Lab Rats perform rhythm and blues with soul quenching harmonica, sizzling guitar, solid bass and dynamic drums! Touching on the facets of swing, soul, jazz, rock-a-billy and rock n’ roll. The band features Leonard on harmonica, ukulele, and lead vocals. Leonard started singing on the street, after backing many groups on harp. Leonard’s uke harp combo is distinctive and his vocals soulful on delivery.
Swing along band

The Swing- Along Band is 2 players (saxes, valve- trombone, vocals, trumpet), but sound like a band of 6 people as the computer plays string bass, keyboard, guitar, drums, from their carefully written arrangements. They play and sing Swing Music from the 1920’s-1970’s, recalling the famous Big Bands era, Broadway Musical, Movies, and Hit Tunes.

The Digitery Do’s play English Country Dance music from the 1500s through to the 2000s. They are; Leona Axelby (guitar), Catherine Hembling (concertina), Kate Semple (banjo), Konstantin Olchanski (Mandola, mandolin, various flutes).
